Karin Schubert (born 26 November 1944) is a German actress. She appeared in film roles since 1970 and became a pornographic actress in the 1980s.

Her early roles included the Spaghetti Western Compañeros (1970) and Gérard Oury's film La folie des grandeurs (1971). In 1972, she appeared in the films Bluebeard, directed by Edward Dmytryk, and Yves Boisset's L'Attentat. The same year, she appeared along with Edwige Fenech and Pippo Franco in the sex comedy Ubalda, All Naked and Warm. She then started to appear in adventure films, especially with Italian actor George Eastman. The first film of this kind was a Three Musketeers Spaghetti Western adaptation, Tutti per uno...botte per tutti (Three Musketeers of the West) in 1973, and she also appeared in the crime drama Rudeness (1975), and as a Russian agent in the spy film Missile X: The Neutron Bomb Incident (1978) opposite Peter Graves and Curd Jürgens. In 1975 she appeared in the hit film Black Emanuelle starring Laura Gemser which drew the attention of director Joe d'Amato, and began to take part in his erotic films, including Emanuelle Around the World in 1977 where she played Cora Norman, the counterpart of Gemser.

Gradually losing demand as an actress in the mid-1980s, she moved to Spain, but also failed to establish herself there. Her personal problems also contributed to her career problems: her marriage broke down, and her son became addicted to drugs, becoming so out of control that his mother became the target of his violent outbursts. To earn money for his treatment, Schubert started posing for pornographic magazines, but when the money from this ran out, in 1985 at the age of 40, she also began starring in hardcore pornography films. Using her notoriety as leverage, she signed a contract with a film company that paid her an annual salary of 180,000 German marks, to perform in films mostly in Italy and West Germany.

In 1994, 50-year-old Schubert left pornography, having starred in 24 films of this genre. That same year she tried to commit suicide by taking barbiturates with vodka, but was rescued by neighbors. Two years later, neighbors found her unresponsive in her car, having attempted suicide a second time by carbon monoxide poisoning.

Karin Schubert, née le 26 novembre 1944 à Hambourg, est une actrice allemande qui débute au cinéma à la fin des années 1960 avant de se spécialiser dans l'érotisme et de terminer sa carrière dans le cinéma pornographique entre 1985 et 1994. En France, elle est principalement connue pour avoir tenu le rôle de la reine d'Espagne dans La Folie des grandeurs (1971) de Gérard Oury.

Après avoir obtenue son diplôme de secrétaire d'administration, Karin Schubert s'oriente vers le mannequinat. Elle pose pour divers magazines et tourne des spots publicitaires, représentant notamment les bières Peroni. Elle épouse un représentant de la marque Opel avec qui elle a un fils. Courtisée par le cinéma, elle s'installe en Italie.

Au cours des premières années de sa carrière, Karin Schubert se partage entre l'Italie et l'Allemagne, apparaissant le plus souvent dans des rôles secondaires sexy. Elle devient une figure récurrente de la comédie érotique à l'italienne qui connaît des heures florissantes. Elle tourne sous la direction de spécialistes du genre comme Marco Vicario (Il prete sposato, 1970), Mariano Laurenti (Satiricosissimo, 1970) et Brunello Rondi (Racconti proibiti... di niente vestiti, 1971). On la voit aussi avec le duo comique Franco et Ciccio dans I due maghi del pallone. Mais c'est à Companeros, un western spaghetti de Sergio Corbucci, que l'actrice doit son premier succès critique.

Gérard Oury lui offre ensuite l'occasion de donner la réplique à Louis de Funès, Yves Montand et Alice Sapritch dans La Folie des grandeurs (1971). Le triomphe du film paraît devoir lui ouvrir les portes d'une carrière internationale. L'année suivante, elle tient avec Raquel Welch, Virna Lisi, Nathalie Delon, Marilù Tolo, Agostina Belli et Sybil Danning, le rôle de femme de Barbe-Bleue, donnant la réplique à Richard Burton dans le film homonyme d'Edward Dmytryk. En 1972 toujours, on la voit dans le très sérieux L'Attentat d'Yves Boisset.

Malgré son nouveau statut, Karin Schubert ne délaisse pas pour autant l'érotisme et retrouve Mariano Laurenti, qui fait d'elle la covedette avec Edwige Fenech de Quel gran pezzo dell'Ubalda tutta nuda e tutta calda (1972). Le grand Luigi Comencini la dirige aux côtés de Laura Antonelli dans Mon Dieu, comment suis-je tombée si bas? (1974). Dans un registre plus grave, elle joue le rôle principal de La Punition (1973), une production franco-italienne coécrite par Richard Bohringer. Elle retrouve aussi l'Ouest américain dans Tutti per uno... botte per tutti (1973) avec George Eastman, une adaptation très libre du classique de la littérature Les Trois Mousquetaires. ...
