Discuss Game of Thrones

Obviously the Night King is the the Top villain of the series but do you think there's a possibility that Euron displaces Cersei by Betrayal?

With Jamie out of the way he can scheme to overthrow her and take the throne for himself with aide from the Golden Company.

Cersei has more power and leverage to persuade them to fight for her, namely , land and wealth, but perhaps Euron can convince them to stage a Coup and take the spoils regardless.

I don't think so.

I've read that there is an unofficial "Top 7" tier of characters -- 3 Lannisters ( Tyrion, Cersei, Jamie) , 3 Starks ( Jon, Sansa, Arya), and Khaleesi.

They are the highest paid of the cast.

All 7 have been present since the start and are still alive at the end of season 7.

That may change in season 8, but it may make them reluctant to eliminate Jamie and Cersei for a relative newcomer like Euron.

Surely not. He is too much of a one-dimensional character. His swaggering pirate king act is too broad and doesn't have the gravitas for alpha villain in the final season. At very best his role will expand to a more significant second tier villain such as Ramsay Bolton.

He's only one dimensional because the writers took away half his persona from the books. It's amazing, book Euron according to tv tropes is a vastly better character than tv Euron. He retains the same charisma , but he also exhibits Joffrey's abject cruelty, Baelish's cunning, and red priest-esque supernatural Powers. Book Euron has all the hallmarks of a main villain but the show runners decided he's better off as a secondary villain. Euron was never meant to be a swaggering pirate, he's supposed to be the personification of fear. "From Old Towne to Quarth when men see my sails they pray."

Personally I wish they were a bit more inclusive of book Euron's characteristics because it would give him main villain potential. But since they gave us discount Euron to save money for dragon scenes I'm inclined to agree with you.
