Discuss Game of Thrones

I’m not condoning her actions in S8 episode 5 , I just admire how much more interesting her character has become after a complete heel turn. She strikes fear in everyone even when the dragon is not in the room. She’s infinitely more intimidating than we’ve ever seen. She tolerates zero incompetence and checks her hand who should have been fired in season 7.

Like she said , she can rule by love or fear and the people don’t love her. That was evident at the party, post - long night. She sacrificed and put her children in harms way to protect people who view her as a foreign invader. People who without her help would have been killed by the army of the dead. She lost Jorah who was like a father figure , her best friend was slain by her greatest enemies , and the man she loves rejects her Becuase they are related, not because he doesn’t love her back. One of her main advisors tried to poison her. A perfect storm of isolation, loneliness , betrayal, loss of control, bitterness, ego and rage all brought out the worst in her.

She’s essentially what Anakin sky walker was when he became a sith, gave up on being good and embraced the worst qualities in herself to regain a sense of power and assert that power over everyone. They even lined up her unsullied like Storm troopers in the preview. I get the sense Daenerys is PROUD of what she did. And this makes her the perfect tragic villain.

I've always found her segments of the saga the dreariest, particularly the several seasons of her freeing one community of slaves after another. For a long time I hoped that she would never make it to Westeros, that her storyline was simply a red herring. I have no problem with her transformation into the show's ultimate antagonist, especially as it's arguably been signposted for a long time. It's fairly likely that were season 8 a few episodes longer, the change would be less jarring and irritating to so many.
