Discuss Ray Donovan

Ray should have let his idiot twit of a daughter rot in jail?

Of course Ray is not the greatest of fathers- but he does really love his kids and will do anything for them. I am just so tired of seeing Bridget always poop on everything Ray has ever tried to do for her. Grow up Bridget- you are not 13 anymore.

I wished they had gotten her off the show.

A resounding freaking YES!!!

Just when I thought she was past getting on my last fucking nerve...she gets on my last fucking nerve!

The restaurant scene was bad enough. But then, this stupid naive and entitled little bitch illegally enters this woman's hotel room and points a gun at her demanding that she performs surgery on her dying boyfriend.

Seriously? The doctor should have just said..."sure Bridget". "I'll do your boyfriend's surgery". "No worries".

I feel like this character is beyond ridiculous, annoying and even dumber than Bunchy. And, WE ALL know how dumb Bunchy is!

On top of that. Ray gets her ass out of jail and the little C U Next Tuesday still has a bug up her ass and demands being taken to the airport to go be with her boyfriend.

The writers could have at least made it interesting for us by throwing us a bone and have her get a "back in the hood" Southie type, ass-kicking beat down.

I would have been satisfied because...she would have been taught a lesson and the audience...myself especially, would have enjoyed seeing her all bloodied and broken.

This is Ray Donovan isn't it? We expect that the characters from time-to-time will get jacked up.

Bridget needed to get jacked up!

ALL of this ! clap clap_tone2 clap_tone1

Agreed. Bridget never evolves from her entitled rich brat persona. I predicted that she would end up blood soaked in a car after a drive-by back on IMDB. I hope to see your scenario come to pass as well, Nubyan. She is insufferable.

I hope that in the next season one of the following happens:

  1. Her boyfriend dies from post surgery complications...OR

  2. He drops her dumbass based on the fact that she and her family are fucked up and he wants nothing to do with her. And, that if it weren't for them he would have had his surgery and been cured a long time ago.

I'm leaning more towards the latter. Simply because I like the guy.

I like the guy too. I like the idea of him rejecting Bridget just because Bridget. She should have gone to jail. That would be good to see. Her in jail whilst Terry and cancer kid fire up refers like there's no tomorrow, laughing and carrying on.

Speaking of weed and smoking. How is it that, that wasn't an issue for the boyfriend with respect to his surgery?

I was thinking...wow, this dude is getting wasted smoking weed and doing God only knows what else sort of drugs just hours or days prior to major surgery.

How is it okay to proceed with such a surgery? He'll be on anesthesia and other drugs during and after surgery that may potentially complicate things. The toxicity levels in his body should be lit up...no pun intended, pretty much in the same way he was lit up.

That part made no sense to me. Especially if that doctor...his surgeon was being forced to perform the surgery. You would think that she would have addressed and ruled out any possible issue(s) that would compromise the surgery considering she would be on the hook for it. She would have the most to lose. License to practice, livelihood, reputation, etc. She was performing an illegal surgery.

I have to say. You usually wouldn't find me complaining about a show that I watch. But, Ray Donovan has really disappointed me this season. If I'm complaining...something is definitely not right.

I totally agree.

@Nubyan I don't recall them showing any drugs other than weed. Highly unlikely that there would be any detrimental drug interactions with the weed unless he smoked some an hour before surgery. Weed is actually gentle and of little concern to anesthesiologists. The only build-up in the body from weed is THC in the fat (and a little on the hair) and THC is about as toxic as vit C (which is to say that critical levels of ANYTHING are critic).

@Horus Mazinga: No...I didn't see any other drugs either. But, the guy is dying of cancer. At that stage of his life, there's no telling what sorts of drugs he could be taking to assist with pain or just because.

Furthermore, I doubt that anesthesia was the only prescribed drugs on the menu...especially post surgery. He may need pain medication or a number of other drugs unrelated to pain.

Lastly, marijuana is low on the list of harmful drugs. But don't allow that to fool you with respect to how a body tolerates it. A person can be medically harmed by anything above moderation...including something as precious to life as water.

A person can die from drinking too much water in a short period of time. It can happen and it has happened...honestly. You can kill someone from too much salt intake. It will shut down your organs and lead to death.

There was a case at a children's hospital in the U.S. where a mother killed her child by mixing one tablespoon of salt in with the child's formula. The child had been sick and in the hospital since birth. The authorities initially thought the case was a mercy killing carried out by one of the nursing staff. Turned out it was the mother. She could no longer cope with her child being chronically sick her entire life of less than 2yrs old.

So, anything above and beyond moderation can kill. And, anything can cause unknown and unwanted side effects if paired with something else.

Nevertheless, I'll smoke a joint any day over drinking...which I'm not a fan of alcohol, or pop a pill or do any other drug...illegal or prescribed.

👊👍Put your lighters up!

I've read about that. Still sad that someone dies from it every now and then. I drink a lot of water. At least a gallon a day. It's good for everything. I never get sick, I don't suffer from body odor, and I have great energy. So my somewhat high water intake led me to this potential mortality. Fortunately it has to be over three gallons within a very short period of time. Kinda shocking.

Never heard about this. Wow. Is there a more fragile animal in its infancy than the human? Tragic. Does this qualify as "Munchousen by Proxy" syndrome?

Mostly true but I must introduce myself into evidence for, you see, I have smoked amounts of pot within a 24 hour period that would shroud a battleship within its smoke screen. Grandad always used to say "smoke 'till yer blind, boy." Although, come to think of it, Grandad was the first person to ever die of blindness. But in all seriousness, in my heyday I was saturated with marijuana and enjoyed good health other than a rich morning cough. Zero moderation.

Agreed. If I ever did or said something I regretted, it was when I was drinking. I quit everything but the occasional puff about 10 years ago. But yeah, all things in moderation (including moderation)

@Horus Mazinga: The child's illness and death was not a munchousen case. The child was legitimately quite ill since day one. The case occurred in Boston back in the mid to late 80's. As it turns out, I knew the mother and child. I met them both. It was shocking when the news came out. I had never experienced such tragedy in my own personal life. And, out of the blue...I knew both the victim and victim's mother. Something I will never forget. The mother was not an evil person. Just young, alone and zero support from anyone. A sad and tragic case all around.

I have a very close family member that smokes weed everyday...quite a lot of it. Anyone can build up a tolerance. Rolls the most perfect joints ever! Looks like a Virginia Slims cigarette. It's all about the right paper. The heavier brown and flavored paper. Ameretto is a nice flavor. This member lives a successful and happy life and is loved by all.

I'd share a joint with you Horus. Just keep it moving. Puff, puff, pass. 😎😉

I dreaded every scene with her in it - her total narcissism and complete disregard for the lives and careers of anyone else made me sick. It was Abby's fault ( character also seems a bit of a slag) for telling a 17 year old to go after what/who she wants. She might have added as long as it does them no harm. I breathed a sigh of relief when she took her guitar (how real was that - the singer songwriter teen - she should have given that up after she helped to massacre "Sunny") and slammed the door behind her. I fervently hoped that she met up with a psychotic truck driver.
