Which worked better?The videotaped eps shot in b+w (and often filmed just hours before being first aired) certainly had a realistic advantage (since this was an interesting reality being mirrored on videotape that was a big plus). They were also more packed with plot twists, storyline and dialogue (you will indeed have to put on subtitles to get everything they are saying--it was way harder for viewers to comprehend it all when the show aired in the early 60's). The color eps OTOH are more a visual treat with exteriors of the UK countryside. Plus, the women are more beautiful and often sexier to view in color (how would Julie Stevens as Venus Smith look in color?). Both have advantages.
