Discuss Marvel's Jessica Jones

Not that it was bad, but it is VERY inferior to season 1. The villain wasn't that great, anytime they focused on Trish I wanted to skip it, Jessica is made out to be a HUGE hypocrite, no Luke Cage, and not to sound like a backwards conservative, but they did seem to go a little too female-centric.

Every time a guy appears threatened by Jessica it's basically because she's a woman and... not a super human who is a known neck-snapping killer. In the first episode the Asian guy says something like "i never take no for an answer" and she equates that to rape, but in another episode Jessica says something along the lines of "I don't ask for permission", but she's a woman so that's NOT equated with rape. Nice double standard Jessica.

Also Jessica is known for sleeping around with all sorts of men in one night stands (nothing wrong with that) but then she chews Malcolm out for using a dating app to sleep with women (hypocrite!). I just feel Jessica is far less likeable this season than she was last season because she has no growth. She was moody and abrasive in season 1 and in Defenders and she hasn't changed or grown. I think Trish was right in the end, Jessica's powers are wasted on her.

Now I am convinced season 1 was so good exclusively because of David Tenant. Without him this feels like a CW show.

I was sort of hoping Tennant would show up this season, if only in a flashback. And no Luke Cage at all?

Tennant does show up as a hallucination or w/e. Any breathing second he was onscreen the show was elevated by over 9000!!!! I'm convinced the only reason the 1st season worked so well was because of him. He's a national treasure that guy! smile

I'm now convinced that Trish IS THE FUCKING VILLAIN!!! She's that stuck up bitch friend who was jealous of Jessica and her powers since childhood. She could never get over it. She even kick-started the whole plot with IGH when Jessica was didn't need none of that shit. That douchebag friend/sister even brought Jessica's Family ashes to her. What kind of asshole does that? Even that poor Whizzer guy reached out because of Trish Talk and got himself spotted by CRAZY KILLER MOTHER. To top it all off she strong armed the Doctor to perform procedure on her, so she could FINALLY get powers. Wow! Just WOW!

SHE NEVER WANTED TO EXPOSE/TO SHUTDOWN ILLEGAL EXPERIMENTS ON IGH. SHE ONLY DID IT TO FIND THE DOCTOR AND GET POWERS!!! IS THIS BITCH SUPPOSED TO BECOME HELLCAT? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?

I think Season 2 is the better season.

Without David Tennant this show just wallows in its own mediocrity. FACT. Kristen Ritter is simply a boring rebellious teenager with 0 charisma. FACT.

I think I agree. This season paled in comparison to season one. The subplot with Hogarth was ok...Trish being jealous of Jessica and trying to force her ways on Jessica isn't that interesting and wasn't working. I found it odd that Jessica didn't recognize her own mother.

Because it wasn't the same face she remembers. Doctor whats-his-face reconstructed her a new one. Don't you remember meatface mom flashbacks?

5 Episodes in, and I just can't make it any further. This officially makes it the worst Marvel series to date.

Being that Sea 2 dropped weeks ago and I have not yet finished it means it suck to me also. Yes, I will agree JJ is less likeable this season and her double standard is annoying as hell also. Trish storyline is boring and why no Luke Cage? Anyway I will finish b/c I'm vested in the Marvel series but Sea 2 will go to the bottom of my list.
