The "original Matisse" shown in the episode seems to be a painting created or obtained for the show, similar to Matisse's Le Tabac Royal but obviously not the same, and not a real Matisse. But then a fake Matisse is the central focus of the episode. Perhaps an unstated joke by the creators?
