In what is a first for the Mission Impossible franchise, Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One received 2 Oscar nominations last week. They're for Best Sound and Best Visual Special Effects. The movie has also received 2 BATFA (The British Oscars) in the same categories.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One also received 2 BAFTA (the British Oscars) nominations. Oddly enough, the nominations were in the same 2 categories as the ones they got in the American Oscar nominations.
BTW, Dead Reckoning Part One is now streaming on Paramount Plus (which I have) and I keep meaning to watch it but I can't quite bring myself to do it because THISE B**TARDS KILLED ELSA!
