The ninth series is the last and now we know how and why Morse became an embittered bachelor, who never spoke of Thursday or Joan in the original series "Inspector Morse (1987-2000)".
All that remains is this haunting hypnotic theme score, a lump in my throat and just... sadness.

I'll be sad to see Endeavour conclude. It'll be I suppose a few or so months before the final season begins airing on the US' PBS.
The two videos you linked to above make evident how excellent and worth watching of a full-run series this has been.

@genplant29 Yes, it is. When I have time, I'll be rewatching "Inspector Morse". In the first episode he meets Lewis.

I have the DVDs of two ("The Way Through the Woods" [1995] and "The Daughters of Cain" [1996]) excellent Morse episodes, and all the original six seasons of the Lewis series before it eventually resumed (after being considered concluded) and had three bonus final seasons (not quite as good) tacked on by popular demand. Would like to also acquire DVD sets of the Endeavour series' seasons, or at least of a best season or two thereof.
I don't suppose there will be any more spin-offs, though I'm still wishing for an eventual Hathaway spinoff of the Lewis series.

Hopefully one day you can see the complete "Inspector Morse" series.
We can only hope. Although I doubt that the actor Laurence Fox, who played DS James Hathaway in "Lewis (2006-2015)", will return. He has become too controversial in the times we live in.
Here is a short post about the last film he starred in with Gina Carano.

I remember when you commented on this a while back & I said the same thing that W2W said below. He has become a real 'hot potato' the couple of years & I think most film & TV makers are avoiding him like the plague?

I had forgotten about how controversial Laurence Fox has become during the last five or so years, til this evening refreshing my memory via his Wiki article. Yeah, his considerable outspokeness does his career no favors.
@wonder, back when each season of Inspector Morse originally aired on PBS, I did watch, and very much enjoyed, all or most of the seasons and episodes. I no longer remember much, so would at some point enjoy watching some of that series anew.

I was a huge fan of Fox until all this controversy. Some of the things he has said were just hateful. Sometimes you just can't separate the man from the actor.
You can get the entire series on DVD for less than $50.00 on Amazon. PBS sells the same version for $125.00!
Just google Inspector Morse: The Complete Series [DVD].

Do either of you happen to know whether the physically same Jaguar was used for Morse in each of his two series?

Morse's Jag was sold in 2005.

Here is an article about Endeavour's Jag (first one).

When did Endeavour switch to the red one? Or did he?

Yes, Endeavour drove a black Jag, though I noticed a red Jag is in the S9 closing scene clip that wonder posted.

Isn't that the clip that shows them both in their respective rear view mirrors?
I'm sure that W2W will find something that will answer your question.

Yes. So I guess the two versions of Morse passed one another on the road.

Three different models Jaguar.
"Endeavour" Pilot: Black 1959 Jaguar Mk.I 3.8L, Reg. No.: UFF 325
"Endeavour" series: Black 1956 Jaguar Mk.I 2.4L, Reg. No.: KAN 169
"Inspector Morse" series: Red, 1960 Jaguar Mk.II 2.4L, Reg. No.: 248 RPA
Side notes:
Morse's red Jaguar makes a cameo in the pilot episode of "Endeavour".
