Shane Meadows is superb at capturing a sense of time and place. The nostalgia I feel watching these series is the best kind and I'd really like to see this show go on through the 90s and maybe even keep going right up to the present. This is England 90 delivered a perfect ending so I can see why he'd want to leave it there, but I also think the show could work really well if a new generation is slowly introduced as the old cast become the parents.

Is This is England 92 not an enticing prospect? With the tone set by the likes of Manic Street Preachers, The Prodigy and Nirvana?
