A prequel could be about Xena's childhood and family, her struggles growing up, the years as a warrior princess prior to meeting Hercules. Later there would be short scenes of Gabrielle's own childhood.

It is difficult to have a successful sequel when we all know how the series ended. Will Xena do the impossible and return or would it be Gabrielle telling stories of her adventures with Xena?

There have been so many reboots of TV shows and movies and they are never the same as the original. New writers, new ideas, trying to conform to the present mentality, which would lead to changes that may not satisfy the majority of the Xena fans. I always feel like reboots are happening in alternate or parallel realities.
