Discuss The Originals

I have been catching up on recorded eps and thankfully not visited any fan forums so this episode was a complete surprise.

It has been nearly two decades since a TV demise has shocked and surprised me so (Tessa's death in "Highlander"). I did not see it coming, did not even consider it, figured Elijah and Antoinette would go off into the moonlight together to another place but eventually make their way to New Orleans and...

I liked how he knew who he was. Knew all about the family and it's long bloody history. Knew who he had been to Klaus and how abusive that relationship had been. And that he rejected it all.

But immolating himself after asking Antoinette to marry him? Did not even occur to me he would do that. But I suppose it was the only way to guarantee the Mikelson reign of terror would never be a family affair ever again.

RIP Elijah.

He is not dead. An Original can only die by a piece of the white oak.

After posting this, like hours later, it dawned on me! I feel a bit silly. lol Still, great scene.

Sorry, that wasn't my intention.

Although if it had been true (that Elijah was dead) the only thing that I would have hated was how it would affect Klaus (favorite character). I have never been a fan of Elijah (too buttoned up).
