I just watched "The Star Beast" and thought it was fine. It's pretty much what I expected from Russell T. Davies (remember his fart monsters, the Slitheen?) only will less kissing. I'm sure he'll make up for the lack of kissing in the future, as he's proven time and time again in the past. Why did people think that Davies being back at the helm was a good thing again? I did also just watch a review of the episode where the reviewer went on and on complaining about the transgender actress on the show, that irked me a little since she didn't have enough screen time/dialogue to warrant such hate. What really pissed me off was when he complained about Tennant's Doctor aging up, saying Time Lords don't age like that like it was a plot hole. Ummm....he regenerated into an older version of his past self, he didn't age up dipshit, I screamed at the screen then immediately put his channel on ignore as I realized he either just wanted to hate on the show for views or he's too clueless to ever listen to any further.

Tennant was my FAVORITE DOCTOR! I wish I could afford another streaming channel, so I could watch these new Tennant episodes.

One interesting thing, someone mentioned online was that the episode was based on an old Doctor Who Marvel comic, which makes sense since Disney is now funding future Who episodes. I'm dissapointed that I didn't connect that myself, as I've read that Marvel comic and still own a copy of it. 😅

I enjoyed the second special (which I just watched), "Wide Blue Yonder" more than the first (even though my view of it is now increasing as I remember more the original comic it was based on..it's been over 20 years since I've read it), still it has more of that Davies silliness which I suppose I should prepare myself to get used to again as we go on. I did for a bit think I was going to hate this episode as it threatened some sci-fi tropes that I've long loathed (from movies like Sphere and books like Ghost) but thank goodness it avoided that. This one I don't remember from a comic (though there may have been a Marvel reference In it though I'm uncertain it was intentional), but then again I didn't remember that the first special was also from a comic until it was pointed out to me.

The third special is probably my favorite of the three. Neil Patrick Harris as the Toymaker is an absolute treasure. As for the introduction of the next Doctor, I really like him a lot, but as how the regeneration played out, it really shows that BBC is being very cautious about the casting of a gay black Doctor and requested an easy backdoor out in case he becomes too controversial.
