Discuss Gotham

I only bring it up because that seems to be one of those things in the DC universe, granted I have not read the first issues of Batman, so it may have been closed out there, I am only going along with the cinematic movies I have seen. In Tim Burton's Batman it was the Joker and in subsequent movies it was left vague. In this series it is the Court of Owls, so what is considered Canon for who killed Bruce's Parents? Is it one of those things that has been left open ended and up for interpretation based on who is developing Batman at the time due to the fact that there is nothing really established?

In this show IIRC they found the guy who actually pulled the trigger at one point but he was a hired hitman. Since then they have been following the trail to find out who ultimately ordered the hit and it has lead them to the court of owls.

As far as the comics go, they change stuff all the time at the drop of a hat so who really cares?

Yeah, I remember that episode, Bruce confronts and almost kills the trigger man, I was just wondering if there was anything established out there in regards to the killing, of course if it was they would probably use it. The Death of Bruce Wayne's parents seems to be open ended with no real clear cut answers and left to interpretation tailored to the Batman/Bruce Wayne they are depicting at the time.

According to Wikipedia a petty thief named Joe Chill killed Bruce's parents. I guess this is just too boring for the movies so they make up different more interesting characters to kill Bruce's parents....

It wasn’t Joe Chill in this one but Matches Malone. Why they chose to change his name I've no idea, but in the comics Bruce Wayne has used Matches Malone as an alias before.
