It's all about that Eobard Wells inheritance, bro.

Where I come from, a journalist and CSI inverstigator make a pretty nice dollar so I can't see why the 2 of them couldn't afford a nice apartment together.

Except we know of no inheritance, the only thing that was mentioned on tv was that Barry owns Star Labs and that's it period! Everything else about how they finance the place, who cleans it, how are Caitlyn and Cisco paid, how the property taxes are paid are just speculation.

I'm pretty sure they said there was also money involved in that inheritance.

Things work differently on tv land. Look at all the nice houses and apartments from other shows. But another reason is so they have room to film

Ok, so Cisco spent one afternoon whipping up an incredible piece of tech that they sold for $1 million. He does it practically every episode.
Star Labs must make money somehow. Besides, the apartment really isn't the most unrealistic thing on this show.

It's not but no one ever addresses how anything is paid for. Ok, so Barry and Joe have jobs, but what about Caitlyn, Cisco, H.R. etc.. How are they paid? Do they have apartments? Who pays for the utilities at Star Labs? Are the bad meta's still locked up there? Who takes care of them? Who feeds them and walks them to the restroom? They have never mentioned a single word about Cisco making high tech weapons and selling them. That would be kind of stupid to sell weapons like that so bad guys could get their hands on them and use them against Barry. It would take literally less than 5 minutes to explain where the money comes from. Just mention that Thawne left Barry a fortune to keep Star Labs open. That's it done!

He could make stuff besides weapons. I'm sure this was all supposed to be explained when he inherited Star Labs. It is supposed to be a major company with vast holdings etc. Really not worth losing sleep over.
