So I just binged season 3 because I couldn't stop watching. Yes it was that good. I came up for air every now and then and the credits for the last episode started rolling just as the birds started chirping outside my window. Time to feed the cats and try to get a few hours sleep. It was worth it though, damn this show is awesome!

I look forward to it. Did it get cancelled? Is season 3 the last season?

Yes this is the last season.

I did too. Sad it's over though.

Let's see. [SPOILERS AHEAD]

  1. I thought the nightmares was a great touch, that means that the siblings are being punished, constantly reminded that their sins are banging on the door threatening their false security and creating their own personal hell. The Rayburns shouldn't get away with what they have done, not even Meg.

  2. Kevin got arrested as he should, he lost just about everything. Was Roy his father? Probably, there are many clues to this. Kevin's physique, Roy's will to take Kevin under his wings, the conversations between Roy and Sally about the affair, his last words on his deathbed etc. So he lost his father too. I'm ok with that.

  3. You would think John started it all by killing Danny, at least that's how the others see it, but initially it's a toxic family, we've all seen that. When John takes those steps onto the pier, I'm certain he's on his way to tell Nolan the truth. This means he too will lose everything. I'm ok with that.

  4. Sally's truth came out when she talked about the child births. She is one of those moms who builds a family because that's what you do when you get married to the one you love. But I don't think she ever really loved or wanted the children, she loved Robert. She loved the idea of having a tight knit family, running the Rayburn House, the big dinners and so on. Now she has lost everything. I'm ok with that.

  5. Meg did the right thing and ran away. The only thing she ever did was to hide a body and keep secrets. She might be haunted by her nightmare until she can find a way to work through it and leave the past behind her. I'm ok with that.

  6. Eric was the fall-guy and will be spending the rest of his life in prison. That's just one of those things that we sort into the category shit happens. Someone had to be behind bars for this. I'm ok with that.

I see what you're saying with that. But it all started when the other daughter, Sarah, was drowned. That was covered up as well as Sally's affair with Roy and Robert's beating of Danny. Sally and Robert's fight the day that Sarah drowned probably had to do with Sally having the affair. I still think the series ended badly and left too many unanswered questions. We don't know where Meg is or what she is doing besides having a reoccurring nightmare. We don't know if Sally really did go through with selling the Inn and leaving. We don't know if John told Nolan the truth or if he went to jail. I do suppose, however, that the ending is indignant of the whole family facing their truth and is what the producers wanted to get across. I just think there is a little more to be told with this story. But, alas, we'll never see it.

We don't know if Sally really did go through with selling the Inn and leaving.

She coudn't sell the Inn because it would be under water in less than 10 years. She said it was not sellable and was devastated. That bit I liked as it was her punishment. grinning But overall it was not as good as seasons 1&2 and I didn't like that Eric went to jail for nothing. So glad Kevin got punished though. What a thick and annoying man.

At any rate, I think the intent of the ending was that the Rayburns all got their comeuppance with having to live with what they had done. But I still didn't like the ending...........

I loved the first two seasons...season 3 was okay up until the last two episodes, and then it just sucked. I also wasn't fan of Kevin and Sally's sudden transformation into sociopaths either. I guess they were rushed to tie things up for the finale. That whole thing with Ozzy's visions was just cringe inducing.

I thought it was intense as hell, but there we go.

There seems to be a lot of people complaining because there was a lot of questions left unanswered. But Bloodline isn't CSI. It was never made out to be that kind of neat, tie everything up nicely show. It's a slowburn, character piece. In this case I was happy with some ambiguity, which is what I got.
