Discuss Thirteen

Just finished watching it - the premise was ok but I didn't appreciate the cheat dialogue - Ivy's sister says "it's not her" - her best friend says "she didn't recognise me "- why? What was the point? I felt no sympathy for Ivy - the constant silences - the silly responses to questioning for no reason at all, not doing what she was told made her a very irritating character. It was never explained why she had a passport photo or why she didn't run when she had the chance - or how she and her captor dealt with her pregnancy or how indeed that was never spotted if she had the usual medical check-up that is routine for kidnap or rape victims. It was also pretty implausible that forty police officers couldn't keep her in view. Why would she lie about anything once she was safe? The romance between the two lead investigators was unnecessary - as were her silly trousers. The whole family situation was cliched - the errant husbands return to the fold smacked of a female writer - wife wins - mistress loses. In fact the whole thing was one giant cliché. Not impressed.
