Although I am not anticipating it, I think the love triangle between Dustin, Lucas, and Max will be an interesting addition (depending on how they handle it)
I am interested in what happening with Will in that lab seen in the trailer!

We already have the whole Steve-Nancy-Jonathan situation, so yeah. It depends how they handle it.
Joyce must be forced at some point, and very reluctantly considering how she feels about them, to go to Hawkins Lab for help with her son's condition. Regular doctors probably couldn't find the problem and she couldn't exactly tell them Will may have picked something up in a parallel universe.

Hopefully they have a good enough explanation of the circumstances. If they showed Wills heath deteriorating and Joyce fretting, over the course of one episode, it would be plausible in the second for this to happen.

Watching him puke up a slug would certainly be enough to freak her out, especially if he has one of those Upside Down flashes and Joyce sees something . She'd probably go to Hopper first and tell him what was happening. He'd say look, I know you don't want to hear this, but there's only one place he can go where people might actually be able to figure this out. She'll probably need some kind of assurance that they won't decide to keep Will (and possibly herself) confined there indefinitely. But yeah, like it or not a regular hospital probably can't do a thing for her son. Hawkins Lab might be able to. If they can be trusted.
