Stranger Things megbeszélése

As a disclaimer, I have seen all of season 2.

I wasn't planning on binge watching season 2 as quickly as I did, but it held my interest from episode 1.

Will is the most precious kid in the world and I almost teared up in every scene he had with his mother. I was happy that we got more Will this season. Were we supposed to like the girl that called him Zombie Boy then asked him to dance? I was a little put off by that, but I didn't let it ruin the scene.

Mike and El's relationship is so much better than whatever crap is going on with Nancy, Jonathan, and Steve. I wasn't interested in the older kids' storyline unless they were interacting with the younger kids. I really liked Steve this season, and I'm curious how they'll use him in the future seasons.

Luca's sister was my favorite addition to the cast this season.

RIP Bob, he was great but I saw hints of Joyce/Hopper so I knew he wasn't a permanent addition to the cast.

I really enjoyed seeing El go off on her own and find both her mother and Lost Sister. I really hope we see more of 008.

I liked Max, but I don't know why Billy was added this season. Maybe to show other family dynamics.

I enjoyed most episodes except Lost Sister, because it strayed from the main storyline and the gang felt a little cliché and didn’t seem realistic enough to me, they’d of looked more at home in a Billy Idol video.

But it was cool to see two more actors added from well-known 80’s movies this season, Paul Reiser from Beverly Hills Cop and Sean Astin from The Goonies. I hope they continue with this casting tradition in season 3!

I think the zombie boy comment was fitting since it pretty much became his town nickname. You could see she said it with affection and nothing else. Guys are used to teasing the hell out of each other and this party had very thick skins being nerds. Which I can relate with by the way.

Some of my favorite scenes were when the older kids were talking with the conspiracy theorist, he really cracked me up. But I agree, it was great seeing Mike and El together again.

YES, Lucas’ sister was some of the funniest stuff, that girl was great, talk about attitude.

I’m guessing Billy was just an introduction in this season and will become a one to fight along with the group against the season 3 big bad. Once he finds out what’s going on. He’s the typical rebel against the ex-military dad kind of kid. I think once he finds his way, he’ll be another hero. He’s both street savvy and muscle.

I'd like to see them incorporate Billy into the main plot, just to see him gain some perspective.

I think that it was nice how they are referencing the technology of that era like video tapes and popular horror films during the craze. The Halloween mask was legit, the karate kid and even a strangers mask.

I don't know how I feel about Eleven's sister. I love how they made them London goth punk as Chicago was basically the same way. It fits Eleven and I was thrilled to see how far she had come by letting the man go.

Also I think that is was nice that they incorporated Will more this time, but it seems they copied season one again and had him sit it out.

Also I find myself liking Steve better and hope he stays around. He could be a big brother to the kids.

Nancy was sweet and find myself liking her selfless act to avenge Barb and asking Dustin to dance at the snow ball.

just some random thoughts

i love Max! definitely my favorite new character. she can't top El, though.

i was reminded of Aliens a lot (Demogorgons). the scene with El and Hopper on the elevator felt straight out of it.

i had no interest in the love triangle, though i quite like both Steve and Nancy.

Hopper's still great. last season he had a better arc but this season he got to kick some ass.

the Mind Flayer is wicked.

episode 7 felt like X-Men and not in an entirely good way.

stop calling her Jane! her name's Eleven! lol

dunno if really like about the resolution of the Dart story. but, hey, what the hell do i know about demogorgon behavior?

"how was the pull-out...?"

Noah Schnapp (who plays Will) didn't have much to do last season but this season we got to see more of him and boy, can that kid act! Apparently the seizure he had when those vines were burned along with the rest of his full-out Exorcist stuff was completely live and genuine, no effects or digital enhancement were used. Obviously he didn't make that screeching noise but the shaking and the eyes rolling back were all Noah. His terror at being stalked by a powerful evil and his struggle to hold on as his humanity slipped away were riveting.

That girl who came up to WIll at the dance, by the way, was the same one who cried at his funeral in season 1. And since she said "zombie boy" with a smile in an affectionate tone, we can assume it wasn't intended to make fun of him. Kind of a cool nickname when you think about it.

Poor Bob had the Stranger Things equivalent of a death by walkers. Bob Newby, demogorgon puppy chow. I think we've all been expecting something to happen between Hopper and Joyce. Especially since the show confirmed what David Harbour said during one of his TV interviews months back, that the two characters were high school sweethearts - which explains a lot of the dynamic between them. I actually think it's possible Jonathan is his and Joyce's son. He'd be the right age to have been born right after he left Hawkins, presumably to serve in Vietnam. Joyce may have married Lonnie by the time he got back and that's what prompted Hopper to leave town and start a new life elsewhere.

My biggest problem with this season was so little interaction between Mike and Eleven. I was expecting them to reunite when El went to the school, then perhaps go off to visit her mom together. Mike wasn't really needed in Hawkins for the middle episodes of the season. He could've gone with her to the Ives house and even on to Chicago.

Yeah, I think we're going to be seeing Eight and her merry band again. Perhaps some of the other numbered kids from Hawkins Lab. And Brenner himself I suspect, too.

No big shock that Jonathan and Nancy ended up together. Apparently actors Charlie Heaton and Natalia Dyer are dating in real life, so having Nancy and Steve split up probably makes things less awkward on set. And Steve has become guardian and big brother to Dustin and his friends. Quite an evolution his character has gone through over the course of the show so far. Apparently Billy was introduced to fill the role originally envisioned for Steve. So I don't know about him getting on board with the group. We'll see though.

She only had a few scenes but Lucas' sister was a riot. Maybe she'll play a bigger role next season.

oh! i probably should've realized that since i binged pt 1 right before.

Its demodogs.

Billy was the biggest waste of time. I hope that is fixed next season because he was a waste of time this season.
