小泉旭（长濑智也 饰）的母亲清川樱是著名的歌手，长久生活在母亲的盛名之下，小泉对母亲有着超越了正常范围的依赖，个性也唯唯诺诺毫无主见。某日，母亲找到了小泉，宣布了自己决定隐退的消息，母亲将父亲的怀表交给了小泉，让小泉前往高知县的土佐清水市猎户座电影院，在那里，即将放映一部名为《歌姬》的电影，这也是这间电影院倒闭前放映的最后一部电影。

　　来到了电影院，小泉得到了一本电影宣传册，让他没有想到的是，这本宣传册竟然将他带回了他的祖父四万十太郎（长濑智也 饰）所生活的那个年代。这一场奇妙的时空旅行彻底改变了小泉的一生。

Koizumi Akira, a son of a popular songstress, travels to a small-town cinema in far-off Kochi Prefecture to watch the closing movie before the theatre shuts its doors forever. The movie takes place in the same village but during the Showa 30s (1950s), in the years following the war.

The story follows a young soldier who washes ashore on the beach one day, having lost his memory. He is "adopted" by the family who owns the village cinema and given the name Shimanto Taro. Although his past remains a mystery, Taro becomes good friends with many of the villagers, discovering his love for movies and falling in love with a feisty young girl.

戦争で記憶を失ったまま10年を過ごした男と、その男をひたむきに愛する女－。二人の恋が成就するかのように思われたその時に、妻を名乗る女性が現れる…。

Koizumi Akira viaja até uma pequena cidade para assistir o filme de fechamento do cinema da lá. O filme ocorre na mesma vila durante o ano trinta da era Showa (1950), nos anos após a guerra. A história segue com um jovem soldado que é encontrado na praia um dia por uma família que o adota e lhe dá o nome de Shimato Taro. Apesar de seu passado continuar um mistério Taro se torna grande amigo das pessoas da vila, descobrindo que gosta de filmes e se apaixonando.
