不幸的青年隐馆厄介（冈田将生饰）经常被卷入各种事件，而且总被当成犯人，为了自我保护他不得不雇用侦探，从而认识了“忘却侦探”掟上今日子（新垣结衣饰）。身为侦探的掟上今日子记忆只能持续一天，第二天就会把所有推理忘却，正因为这个原因，她必须要把事件当日解决，由此成为了史上最快速结案的侦探。厄介爱上了这样的今日子。从此以后，两人一起卷入了各种不可思议的案件，在解决案件的同时，也在为仅有短暂记忆的恋爱而奋斗。
