A 300-year-old book is discovered which chronicles the adventures of the legendary Samurai Troopers... centuries before they happen! But what does this mean? Are the Troopers merely puppets in some cosmic play, acting out parts? Who is this mysterious Suzunagi, a mysterious girl who entices each of the warriors with their hearts' desire - salvation, new armors, freedom from a life of fighting. Why is she so interested in the troopers and their armors?

Suite à l'affrontement des deux armures Kikôtei, les jeunes samouraïs ont perdus leurs armures et peuvent désormais vivre une vie normale. Cependant, il est difficile d'échapper à son destin et le combat les appelle de nouveau lorsque Touma est porté disparu. Mais juste avant que cela n'arrive, il a envoyé un étrange livre vieux de 300 ans à Ryô, qui pourrait bien contenir la clé de l'énigme, ainsi que l'origine des armures.

I cinque samurai è un anime televisivo giapponese prodotto dalla Sunrise e dalla Nagoya Television composto da 39 episodi trasmessi in Giappone dal 30 aprile del 1988 al 4 marzo del 1989. In Italia l'anime venne trasmesso per la prima volta nell'aprile 1990 su Italia 7 approdando in seguito anche su altre reti come TMC e Junior Tv.

Molto tempo è ormai passato dalla distruzione delle cinque armature e le strade dei cinque eroi, Nasty e Jun si sono completamente divise. Ci pensa un inquietante manoscritto rinvenuto da Toma a farli riunire: sembra che le loro avventure, le loro battaglie, le loro sofferenze e i loro sacrifici fossero già scritti dal destino, in quanto rappresentati teatralmente secoli prima.
