Discuss Agatha Christie's Poirot

I want to watch - Agatha Christie's Poirot but I want to know if there is a timeline that I must follow, in which case I have to watch it from episode 1, or is it ok to watch random episodes/cases? I like those kind of tv shows from time to time when I do not have to be "in the story" constantly, and when I can watch one episode casualy, and than the next episode a few days later...or whenever... if you know what I mean :) Like some kind of mini-movie, and not like those shows where almost every episode is important for story and to fully understand the plot.

That's how I like to watch it, without paying much attention to the chronology. relaxed

The early seasons are quite entertaining with some light humour, as far as murder can be funny. grin

Other episodes can be more serious, especially in the later seasons.

There are some episodes, not many, where a character (not the main or recurring cast) reappears or is referred to, for example:

1- Countess Vera Rossakoff: Poirot admires and is infatuated (in love?) with her.

• S3E7 "The Double Clue (1991)": first appearance.

• S8E2 "Murder in Mesopotamia (2001)": mentioned.

• S13E4 "The Labours of Hercules (2013)": last appearance.

2- Isabel "Bella" Duveen: Captain Arthur Hastings' wife.

• S6E3 "Murder on the Links (1996)": first and only appearance.

• S7E2 "Lord Edgware Dies (2000)": mentioned.

• S8E2 "Murder in Mesopotamia (2001)": mentioned (seperated).

So, if you like murder mysteries with a detective solving the cases in his own quirky way, then you'll enjoy watching this 'little Belgian, not French, man with his magnificent moustache'.

“It is the brain, the little gray cells on which one must rely. One must seek the truth within--not without."

I agree that it doesn't at all matter in what order episodes are viewed, as the cases are always free-standing. The main benefit of watching in chronological order would be for improved familiarity regarding Poirot's relationships with certain ongoing or recurring supporting characters, such as, for example, Miss Lemon, Inspector Japp, etc.

This is a really great series for being able to watch episodes of in any order.
