( Kim ll Sung was a mass-murderer and communist leader of North Korea who started the entire Korean War.He was never mentioned on Mash!)
Obviously the show was always like one small step away from cancellation even with very giant ratings. The way it's sequel show, After Mash, went under so very fast as soon as ratings slipped. The network was actually very nervous with all the very angry hate mail Mash obviously got from understandably outraged viewers. Stuff like how the show was so ultra-sympathetic to communists of North Korea ( who in the real war were the very, very bad guys). Who were the publicity people who kept the public from knowing this? Did these people work directly for CBS? Or did they work for, say, Alan Alda directly? These publicity folks may have had to hide a general mail campaign to, say, end Mash early from the GP.
