Street Kings is a 2008 action-crime film directed by David Ayer, starring Keanu Reeves, Forest Whitaker, Hugh Laurie, Chris Evans, Common and The Game. Street Kings: Motor City is a 2011 direct-to-DVD action-crime film directed by Chris Fisher and starring Ray Liotta. It is a sequel to the 2008 film Street Kings. The film is a sequel in name only, as it takes place in Detroit rather than Los Angeles and only Clifton Powell returns from the first film's cast, albeit this time as Tyrone Fowler instead of Sergeant Green. However, it deals with similar themes of police corruption and internal affairs investigations that were seen in the first film.

Los Angeles. Tom Ludlow é um veterano policial que enfrenta problemas desde a morte de sua esposa. Quando descobre que seu colega de trabalho foi executado ele passa a combater o sistema que vigora na polícia local, o mesmo o qual fez parte e defendeu ao longo de toda sua carreira. Isto faz com que questione a lealdade de todos ao seu redor, incluindo a do capitão Jack Wander, seu mentor.
O detetive Marty Kingston (Ray Liotta) perde o parceiro e passa a investigar uma série de ataques que tem os policiais de Detroit como principal alvo. Junto com o novo companheiro de trabalho, Dan Sullivan (Shawn Hatosy), ele descobre que os inimigos estão mais perto do que ele imaginava.
