When aspiring businessman Chiwaki borrows money from the LA mafia and flees to Japan to escape his debt, he soon finds himself being chased throughout Osaka by the local yakuza and a mafia loan shark. Chiwaki plans to get out of debt by investing in a high-end beauty salon, with a loan from Ginjiro Manda. Soon, Chiwaki finds himself pursued by Manda as well, who is willing to go up against the mafia to get his money back.

#25 in the King of Minami series. A trans dancer named Rio is in debt to Manda after trying to finance a trip to the US for gender reassignment surgery, still illegal in Japan. The owner of a prestigious nightclub recruits her, introduces her to a doctor in Osaka who performs the illicit surgery and even agrees to foot the bill. But when the club owner turns out to have ulterior motives, Rio turns to Manda for help.

#30 in the King of Minami series, introducing Ginjiro Manda's new sidekick Kohei. This installment explores the fatal effects of bankruptcy on the loan shark profession, when a young business owner gets tricked into declaring bankruptcy in order to escape from his massive loan debts, prompting Manda to seek revenge on the wily financial advisor behind it all.

#29 in the King of Minami series. Manda and his associates follow a debt-laden detective to Hiroshima, where they plan to collect from his former employer for engaging in wrongful termination, under the intentionally vague label of "restructuring."

#31 in the King of Minami series. A washed-up yakuza named Fukunaga borrows money from Manda, unwittingly involving him in a sinister murder plot.

#32 in the King of Minami series. When the failed president of a recruitment company turns to offering fake job titles for a fee, he is targeted by the yakuza and forced to borrow money from Ginjiro Manda. Despite his attempts to escape his debts by declaring bankruptcy, Manda has other plans.

The CEO of a health food start-up borrows money from Manda using his fiancee's house as collateral, but when his American supplier demands more money than expected, he turns to a business loan company to make up the difference. Meanwhile, a hapless festival merchant turns to Manda when a run-in with the yakuza threatens to derail his business.
