Pasipiktinęs sustabarėjusia skruzdėlyno luomine santvarka, Skruzdėliukas Z kreipėsi pagalbos į skruzdę – kareivį Vyverį, geriausią savo draugą, kad šis jam padėtų patekti pas princesę. Nelauktai Z gyvenimas visiškai pasikeičia – iš paprasto darbininko jis tampa skruzdžių kolonijos didvyriu. Pats to nenorėdamas, jis sukliudo generolui Mandibliui įgyvendinti savo baisų planą: sunaikinti koloniją ir vėl atkurti ją tokią, kokia patiktų tik pačiam ambicingajam generolui. Niekam iki tol nežinomas Skruzdėliukas Z tampa skruzdėlyno revoliucijos vadu, o jo neįtikėtini nuotykiai tik prasideda…
