After a series of ever more daring raids on laboratories and farms to rescue what they believe are mistreated animals, a radical commune of animal liberationists find themselves under a vicious attack by the very groups they had expected the least trouble from: other (more moderate) animal liberation groups. The Animal Condition chronicles three and a half years of recent Australian history, when animal welfare grew from fringe issue to national focus with protests in the streets.
