1673 年 2 月 17 日，巴黎。國皇的劇團正在演出由莫里哀本人主演的《蠢病還須蠱惑醫》。突然，這位法國戲劇大師開始吐血。他決定不顧一切繼續演下去，在痛苦中，過去的記憶和鬼魂進入了劇院。雖然他迫切希望國皇到來，但他仍然選擇充分利用愈來愈混亂的場面，將自己的死亡轉化為最後的笑聲。

Royal Palace Theatre, Paris . February 17th 1673, the King’s theatre group is playing « Le Malade Imaginaire » when Moliere started spitting blood, but he takes the decision to keep playing until the end. During his agony, he let enter in the theatre all the elements and ghost who made his life. Starting a fight to preserve his dignity, he plan to transfigure his death in a last laugh instrument.

Théâtre du Palais Royal à Paris. Un certain 17 février 1673. La troupe du Roi est en pleine représentation du Malade Imaginaire quand Molière commence à̀ cracher du sang. Il décide malgré́ tout de continuer à̀ jouer. Au cours de son agonie, il laisse pénétrer dans l'espace du théâtre les événements et fantômes qui ont fait sa vie. Engageant une lutte pour préserver sa dignité́, il entreprend de transfigurer sa mort en l'instrument d'un ultime éclat de rire.
