I think the G is capitalized, because the title comes from the novel. ICDb also uses the capital G. I don't know what we should use though, because we don't have any hard and fast capitalization rules?

If it is a name, as in a person being called Il Gattopardo, then it should be capital G. If it's just the animal, a leopard, then small. Usage online is split.
