Read the original ending was the 3 friends on the roof hugging it out and the fade to black after they go inside was supposed to roll credits...
...and although I agree that Marcus should've ended up alone and maybe learn something about being a womanizer, it didn't FEEL like a real ending to the movie, it definitely needed something, though I think Angela (Halle Berre) taking Marcus back was a stretch.

I like Angela "taking Marcus back", it does complete a character arc for Marcus.
I just don't like Angela's total switch from nice girl to ruthless, career-focused bitch. She was NOT Jacqueline, and to end up being anything like that almost justifies Marcus wanting Jacqueline in the first place. And, since Marcus matured and came back to admit he was wrong, why would she want to be more like Jacqueline? She should have maturely found a way to deal with Marcus' initial rejection and her heartbreak, recognize his growing up, and still managed to protect her goodness while succeeding in life.
