Great, suspenseful spy film

Featuring a good lead cast (Robert Redford, Faye Dunaway, Cliff Robertson, Max von Sydow, John Houseman) and a fine supporting cast, this film has almost nonstop suspense. I think it's one of my favorites among all films, not just spy films. The ending is just as relevant today as it was in 1975--perhaps even more so.

Well it was one of the 1970s paranoia movies that inspired Captain America 2 which featured Redford.

That massacre in the building that Redford worked at certainly set the stage for a solid thriller.

Always fascinated me the idea of a CIA splinter group working inside the CIA!
Am surprised it hasn't been rebooted, not that it needs it to be honest. The only thing I really didn't like with the love-interest between Redford/Dunaway, which for me was an unnecessary distraction

They usually do the love-interest thing in this type of film. I think it may be an effort to get some of the female audience to watch, as well as providing some eye candy for the guys. Same thing happens in James Bond films, and even part of the Jason Bourne series.

Possibly, but as a female myself I was more focused on the main story than having it slowed right down to invest us with some shallow love interest between two complete strangers.
