下总羽生村的医生宗悦（岬洋二 饰）雪夜前往武士深见新左卫门（中村彰 饰）家催讨租金，结果惨遭杀害。宗悦尸体被沉于池底，然怨念不死，缠住仇家。新左卫门狂性大发，误杀妻子，自己也溺于池中。深见家老管家寅八（野崎喜彦 饰）怀抱主人尚在襁褓中的孩子，偷偷放在商人羽见屋的门口。

A blind masseur visits a samurai to request the return of a loan. The samurai kills him in anger, then has his servant dump the body in the Kasane swamp. However, the ghost of the masseur returns to haunt the samurai, who kills his wife by mistake and then goes to the swamp and drowns himself. 20 years later, the masseur's daughter unknowingly falls in love with the samurai's son who has been brought up to be a servant. Un massaggiatore cieco si reca da un samurai per chiedergli di saldare un debito, ma questi lo uccide, poi fa occultare il suo cadavere in una palude poco distante. Lo spettro dell'uomo assassinato però, si manifesta dall'aldilà per tormentare il samurai, che prima uccide sua moglie per errore, poi decide di togliersi la vita annegandosi nella palude. Vent'anni dopo, la figlia del massaggiatore si innamora del figlio del samurai, ma li attende un destino tragico.
