Discuss The Ninth Configuration

What an absolutely amazing film. RIP Mr. Blatty, you did a great job in writing and directing this. The first chance I got (I used to live in Germany), I visited Burg Eltz in Wierschem, Germany. I strongly recommend it if you ever happen to pass by. Simply magnificent. The castle and the surrounding forest are much better that what you see in the film or in photos. The interior of course is totally different, what we see in the film is not the real interior. If you haven't seen this film yet, please give it a try. I'd love to see your comments or thoughts on it.

I'm sure the castle was cool in person, but I hated this film, the first hour is unbearable, no plot, and dumb cheesy jokes, the last half had a better pace, but the long drawn out scenes are meaningless, and could be edited a whole better

I will have to counter Badlands1. I personally found the film to be quite hilarious, entertaining and insightful. A very philosophical (and quotable) film that, I guess if you're in the right frame of mind or not Badlands1, might open your mind to new ideas and perspectives. I guess it comes down to how you feel about films like Easy Rider or 2001. Either you're in the right frame of mind to go on a trip and just see where it leads you or you'll be bored to tears.

No explosions. "0" stars.

Except for the scenes at night. I would give those scenes "5+" stars.
