Discuss The War of the Roses

I haven't seen this movie yet, but I have caught a few moments of it: The dog turned into food and the hilarious ending under the chandelier for 2....

These two absolutely detested one another, so what I don't get is: if it was so damn unpleasant enduring each other, why not just stay away?!?

Idiotic.......

Is that supposed to be satire?

Why not just watch the movie?

Idiotic.......

Maybe. But, if you watched the movie, you might better understand their motivations and emotions, as well as the moral of the story as narrated by Danny DeVito's character.

You're right... it looks very entertaining & I have no excuse.

Sure thing. Sometimes, I do this because I'm so eager to get in on a discussion. However, starting a thread lol without watching the film is pushing it.

I enjoyed it. It's full of darkly funny moments but, ultimately, it's tragedy.

That said, Douglas, Turner and DeVito have a long history together, lots of chemistry. They enjoy working together and it was interesting seeing them collaborate to tell this story.

I get into discussions on movies I haven't seen, too, if there's an angle I can speak to (whether about an actor, or a role, or a plot point, or money, or, whatever). And, not infrequently, those discussions ultimately compel me to see the movie and circle back to reengage the convo.

I'll look forward to your thoughts after you get around to watching it.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting.

LOL I won't, no worries. This thread isn't going anywhere, it'll keep.
