When I watch a Marx Brothers movie, I typically fast forward through any songs not involving the brothers.
Not in this movie.
Partially, it is because there is nothing notable to fast forward TO.
But it is also true that the songs in Love Happy are reasonably pleasant and even entertaining.
Who Stole that Jam, for example, is quite funny. Marion Hutton sets up the song as if it going to be a sweet lullaby, but after the intro, it becomes a high spirited, angry interrogation song (but tongue in cheek -- she isn't really angry). She beats the heck out of that poor doll in the middle. The doll probably stole the jam, though, and deserves it.
My man Harpo makes an appearance two thirds of the way into it, but gets a taste of the doll's medicine and has to flee.
This movie isn't a classic, but it is much better than many give it credit for.
