This is not as good as zootopia, imo.

Probably in the minority here but I was extremely unimpressed with Zootopia. Kubo, on the other hand, is far more extravagant and the real winner in my book so far. Haven't seen Moana yet but I hope it's more on that level.

I'd plump for Zootopia over Kubo. That scene with the sloths was the most I'd laughed in a while. Kubo is Laika's best so far but not as accomplished as the Disney product. But I can see why people would prefer one over the other.

@elliotthomas97 I'm with you on the sloth scene, that was pure gold. Unfortunately it was the only part that stuck with me aside from some cool animation. I was just much more engaged with Kubo's story.

Aesthetically, KUBO is a mini masterpiece and is a compassionate, imaginative film. There was just more propulsion in ZOOTOPIA's storytelling and the vocal work was amazing. I think it's good debating which is best rather than worst. Besides, it's all subjective and kinda hard to compare art.

Depends on your taste. Zootopia is more familiar like have references to modern world - facetime etc. my fave scene was her train ride to the city.

I liked Moana better for the folk tale kinda story, setting - nature (no phones) and the songs. Hair animation's also awesome.

Animation in Hollywood is in such a great place at the moment, if those three films are anything to go by. MOANA was a recent watch and I thought the use of music in it was outstanding.
