Discuss Kong: Skull Island

I just saw all 3 trailers and that it's from the producers of Godzilla. Godzilla was done so well IMO. I can't wait to see this!

Not huge on the last Godzilla film, it was passable but not as great as I hoped. This, on the other hand, I am super pumped for. Those trailers were mesmerizing & also digging the cast.

I enjoyed Godzilla, but the film has a lot of problems. Thankfully this movie doesn't suffer from those problems. Likable characters, well paced, exciting action throughout (no abrupt cutaways). I will say Godzilla had a better money shot (throatfucking the MUTO with his atomic breath is going to be hard to top) but Kong doesn't disappoint either.

I'm hoping this is next. The original was funny and caused a lot of damage.

Godzilla vs. Kong is tentatively set for 2020, after Godzilla: King of Monsters in 2019.

What if I told one of my next features was to implement another auto complete toggle (same way emojis and mentions work) to invoke a media search so you can link straight to items from the message box? fireworks

Wonderful!

This movie looks insane and with all the clips it wont disappoint

I plan to see it opening night(Thursday), that is something I only do for Marvel MCU movies. Kong just looks too damn good though so I feel the need to do that. I don't care for Godzilla and I skipped his movie.

Main problems with Godzilla 2014 - the most promising actor/protagonist/character gets killed way too soon, and when we finally see the monster(s) the CG is way too dark with only brief moments of real action. Hopefully Kong will be properly lit and get more screen time, but trailers look good.

Did you see Godzilla in theater or rent TV/device?

I saw it an my AppleTV first and had no problems, but when viewed later on my iPad I could hardly see certain scenes I had no problems seeing on the TV. It's as if they messed up encoding it or something.

I grew up watching the old B&W Godzilla movies and enjoyed the 2014 version because of the similarities.

Off topic. But when I watched Godzilla 2014 at home, I changed the lighting by brightening it a bit. It made seeing Godzilla much better while still giving the impression that it was night time.

As far as Kong? Cant wait. Godzilla was riddled with silly problems and I'm sure Kong will be also. But I won't care. yum

Well I finally saw it and I'm laughing at my original post. It sucked hardcore. Worst part was that banal excuse of a script and the overdone slo-mo cheesiness is getting tired fast.

I think Kong Skull Island was awesome! As a matter of fact, I was in the hospital recently and I watched it on TBS.
