It looks OK even though I question some of the casting decisions.

Big fan of The Uncharted game series here but I never, ever take trailers seriously of any indication of how good the film may be. I will give Hollywood credit in the fact that they have perfected the craft of the trailer. They can crap in a box and make a fantastic trailer about it.

But Wahlberg looks too young to play Sully and Holland looks too young (and skinny) to play Drake. Did they even show Elena? I don't see that character in the cast list.

I think the dark haired girl is Chloe, I don't think Elena is in it.

They are not seriously turning Chloe into a journalist because that will truly suck. She is much better as a slick thief with an amazing ass.

Looks shockingly humorless, witless and devoid of self awareness considering it's based on a game series highly celebrated for it's humor, wit and self awareness.

I agree.

I thought this was supposed to be a prequel to the game series but it's now obviously a remake with a young Nathan Drake.

I despair... But I'll still watch it 😖

From what I gather from the trailer it looks like they are mashing up elements from all four games into this film. I'm sure if it is successful they will use the missing characters as a bait to bring people back to watch the sequels.

Dont know how I feel about Wahlberg or Holland in this. I hope it dosent come off as forced humor, which the trailer is giving me vibes.

Drake was no John Candy either.

John Candy? The overweight comedic actor from the 80s?

I can't believe Amy Hennig, the person who actually created Uncharted, doesn't even get a credit for creative consultant or something and that worthless pile of shit who pretty much ruined the game series (and everything else Naughty Dog has made since he took over) Cuckman gets an executive producer. That right there pretty much tells me this movie is going to blow. You want to know why the trailer lacked any humour? Just ask the guy who said "we don't do fun."

I agree Hennig was better at Uncharted and I definitely prefer 2 and 3 to 4, but to say Druckman ruined the series or the first Last of Us game is a bit of a stretch. For all the flaws in TLOU 2 I still wouldn't go as far as to say that that was bad and that he ruined it. It was disappointing, yes. But not bad.

But I'm not sure why either of them would want their names associated with the piece of crap this is obviously going to be.

I agree. No one can argue that the original The Last of Us was actually well written and it is IMO one of the best stories written for the video game medium. Game play wise is another story. Not really impressed with TLOU gameplay (kinda boring IMO) and the TLOU2 had the same boring ass gameplay and the story was not nearly as good. I also have to say that I found the plot to Uncharted 4 superior to the previous entries in the series although if Amy Hennig wrote the characters then she most definitely deserves credit.

I thought TLOU gameplay was great. It may seem a little dated now but at the time it seemed so raw and gritty. I hate stealth games usually. They drive me mad. I hate the way you'll spend 20 mins seamlessly sneaking through a big area. It's intense and immediate. And then just as you're about to get where you need to you get randomly seen by some guy 3 miles away out of the corner of his eye. So you have to do the whole thing again. But this time it doesn't feel natural and organic, it's just going through the motions. Frustrating rather than tense. The last Metal Gear Solid game nearly broke me and I had to turn it off. But I didn't really get that so much with TLOU. I found the stealth seemed to work a lot better and I enjoyed it. So it must have got something right.

Yeah, Uncharted 4 was the best of the series story wise. I liked how the historical story that unfolds as you find old journals and whatnot was also really engrossing. So you're kind of following two stories at once. I didn't get that so much with the previous 3. So TLOU2 aside Druckman probably is better at story. The reason I didn't like 4 as much though was because it seemed a lot shorter than the previous 2 with a lot less variety in areas. It was mainly just forestry whereas the previous 2 take you all over the place with desserts, snow, oil rigs, trains, sinking ships, ancient cities, etc, etc. And while the set piece it did have was superb the others had more of them. So I think Hennig is better at interweaving action set pieces and narrative with the rest of the gameplay. And interesting ideas like climbing the train that's hanging off the cliff in 2.

Yes, I thought the whole train sequence in 2 was fantastic and better than anything presented in 4 (action wise) although the motorcycle/car chase scene in Madagascar was pretty fun too. I just really loved in 4 where it goes back to when Nate was a kid and they give you a little insight of who their mother was and how they inherited the knack for history from her and why they are so proficient in reading Latin. Just the whole Uncharted 4 story was very feel good, ya know? I'm chompin' at the bits to play it on my PC which will be released very soon.

It's coming out on PC now? That's cool. More people need to experience Uncharted.

Well it sucked. Not the worst thing I've seen but it's pretty bad. They should have cast Nathan and Sully older.

And the main villain lady is so laughably bad. I mean I guess they were referencing Uncharted 4 with the tough black lady the game prevents you from just punching out because muh feminism, but she is the tiniest skinniest woman I've seen in recent years and she's beating up dudes like she's got super strength.
