多姆现年 36 岁，是法国西部小镇莱索布勒德奥洛纳港 Petit Gael II 号渔船上的一名水手。他习惯于连续至少三周出海。尽管他经常不在家，但自从父母离婚后，他十几岁的孩子们还是决定和他住在一起。但是，当女儿梅莱斯怀孕后，多姆明白，他必须在大海和家人之间做出选择。

Dom, 36 years old, is a sailor on board of the fishing boat Petit Gael II from the port of Les Sables d'Olonne, a small town in western France. He is used to leave for the open sea for at least three weeks in a row. Despite of his absences, his teenaged children decided to live with him since the divorce of the parents. But when his daughter Mailys gets pregnant, Dom understands that he will have to choose between the sea and his family.

À 36 ans, Dom est marin pêcheur en haute mer et ne rentre que quelques jours par mois à terre. En dépit de ses longues absences, il a la garde de ses deux enfants. Dom fait tout pour être un père à la hauteur. Il rêve même d’avoir sa propre affaire, un petit bateau de pêche à la journée qu’il exploiterait avec son fils. Assez grands pour s’assumer, Mailys et Mattéo n’en sont pas moins deux adolescents qui font leurs propres expériences. L’une d’elles, malheureuse, va forcer Dom à faire un choix entre son métier au grand large et sa vie de famille.
