En journalist har fået til opgave at skrive om Mille Miglia, men det bliver til en nostalgisk mission om at samle en ikonisk bil og få den med i det historiske bilræs.

The story is based on 2014 Mille Miglia and encompasses eighty-five years of the race, from early 1930s to the present day, mixing life, memories, mystery and excitement of its characters who are brought together by the love for cars and separated by long-time secrets. They are fascinated by the presence and the story of a fabulous OM 665 Superba - a car built in Brescia, who won the first edition in 1927 - taken to pieces and forgotten for so many years.

Журналистка Мария приезжает в город Брешиа, чтобы сделать репортаж о ралли ретро-автомобилей «1000 миль». Девушка предлагает знакомому механику Марко принять участие в соревнованиях: он будет водителем, она — штурманом. Марко соглашается, а вот мать героини не слишком рада такому повороту событий. Дело в том, что много лет назад дедушка Марии, участвуя в гонке «1000 миль», попал аварию, которая разрушила его спортивную карьеру. Готовясь к ралли, Мария начинает выяснять обстоятельства того злополучного происшествия и приходит к выводу, что здесь кроется какая-то тайна…
