中国古典名著《红楼梦》，历来不少电影人搬上银幕，以尝心头之好。导演袁秋枫这一部黄梅调的《红楼梦》被誉为电影经典之作。音乐大师王福龄的音乐，把宝黛之恋的悲情带上高峰，居功至伟。值得一赞是编剧易帆和导演袁秋枫高度概括了大观园众生相又突显了宝玉、黛玉和宝钗的三角恋，悲剧制造者王熙凤以掉包拆散了金玉良缘，宝玉成婚夜，打开迎婚花轿，发现黛玉芳踪已渺一幕，当年女性观众抵受不住悲痛也当场晕倒。黛玉葬花，晴雯之死等场面，拍出人世悲凉，歌影动人。花旦阵容，一时无两，有乐蒂的黛玉，莫愁的晴雯，高宝树的王熙凤，丁红的薛宝钗……值得珍藏之作。
