Highly underrated movie and very approrpriate for our times...

It shows the banality of the material things that we idolise in our modern culture... celebrity, fast cars, easy sex, being cool, fashion, travel, exclusive hotels and parties etc... How irrelevant they are in the face of the need to connect with another human being... How trivial these material things are when considered against the bond between father and daughter...

Very good movie... You really get a sense for the weariness and dissatisfaction the main character feels about his supposedly ideal lifestyle... Coppola invites us to question whether or not this is what we should aspire to in our contemporary culture...
