Dimension had originally set a DVD/VOD release date for August 2, and had actually got as far as sending out DVDs to Wal-Mart, etc, and review copies to critics, but a few days beforehand (and shortly after the similar film "The Shallows" came out and performed well) they sold the rights to Entertainment Studios, who cancelled the August 2 home release and will instead release the film theatrically in Summer 2017. The working title for the film was "47 Meters Down", which Dimension changed to "In the Deep" for their home release, but Entertainment Studios have reverted to the original title.

So, the film has not yet been released (though, due to the almost-release, it has leaked online). It is a 2017 release, and its release title is "47 Meters Down", so both the "In the Deep" poster and the 2016 release dates are wrong.
