I read over the bible for collection listings, but I still am not sure if the Dollars Trilogy would qualify as a collection. The films all have the same lead character and similar themes but are not a real trilogy of films in the traditional sense. Thoughts?

If you google The Man with no Name trilogy, the 3 movies are listed. So is it seen as collection/set?

Yes he is the same character in all. TGTGTU actually takes place before fistful (the first one) that explains where he gets the gold from. I am not 100% sure about For a Few Dollars More but TGTBTU and A Fistful of Dollars are connected.

Which I've always found a little silly because he has a name.

Thanks for the heads up on that.
For some reason, I've been unable to post ALL of my responses/thoughts on the "Dead Presidents/Respectable popcorn flick" thread on here for days now. Just figured I'd state that.... it's the reason the thread is so sloppy. Like the web site won't let me do it.

Yes, I'm not sure if the right people will see this to get the Leone/Eastwood Trilogy a proper collection on this site since I am fairly new here. But, just to add in TGTBTU when Eastwood and Tuco are in the POW camp Eastwood gets handed some to clothes to change into out of his confederate uniform. Those clothes are the same clothes he wears for A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More. It's a sheep fur vest/denim jacket I think.
Later, when they are on their way towards the cemetery. Eastwood gives a dying soldier a puff off his cigarillo and picks up the brown poncho he wears in A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More.
Leone purposefully outfitted Eastwood in the clothes we see him in the other two movies and the sacks of gold we see him ride into town with at the beginning of A Fistful of Dollars is from the grave in the cemetery at the end of TGTBTU.
He also has a name in the shooting script, although I can't remember what it is. I actually think he may say his own name at some point in the first two but can't remember.

Not really. In TGTB&TU, he is called Blondie, which is more of a nickname than a name. In AF-FoD, the Mexicans call him Joe, which is, in my mind, a generic term for American. He never introduced himself as Joe. The darker skinned, darker haired Hispanics just called him that. The Baxters never called him by name.
If FaFDM, he was called Manco, which is the closest he has to a real name. This is a Spanish term that means one-armed. Note that in that movie, he does everything with one arm. He deals cards, fights etc. with left hand. This gives off the impression of a man with one arm, so it is possible to see how he could acquire this nickname.
Wellll... not everything. He shoots with his his right hand.

for what reason is this trilogy still not created?

The "Dollars Trilogy" by Sergio Leone was completed in the 1960s, and its iconic status and perfection are likely reasons no new adaptations have been made.

Despite not being a traditional trilogy, the "Dollars Trilogy" is often considered a collection due to the consistent lead character, themes, and director.

I would second that. Even if it shall not be a collection in the sense of the rules - I am personally not sure if about it - it should be treated like the James Bond collection. Please make an exception here. It is iconic enough to be treated special.
