Kurz vor Heiligabend müssen die Eltern auf eine Beerdigung. Sie schärfen ihren drei Kindern ein, niemand hereinzulassen, schon gar nicht irgendeinen hergelaufenen Landstreicher. Doch prompt steht einer vor der Tür und nachdem die Kinder ihre erste Angst überwunden haben, wird es doch ein schöner Abend - viel schöner als Weihnachten mit den Eltern. - Wunderbar gespielter und atmosphärischer Weihnachtsfilm.

Tři děti v tomto příběhu zůstanou jednoho večera samy doma, když se jejich rodiče musí zúčastnit pohřbu. Jsou varovány, aby do domu nepouštěly žádné cizí lidi, ale zapomenou dát na dveře zámek a objeví se poněkud děsivý tulák, který se pustí dovnitř. Z tuláka čiší autentická hrozba, která zpočátku děsí tři děti v příběhu a děti v publiku vzrušuje, i když se nakonec ukáže, že je pouze výstřední způsobem, který je pro všechny děti neodolatelný.

Tri deti v tomto príbehu zostanú jedného večera samy doma, keď sa ich rodičia musia zúčastniť na pohrebe. Upozornia ich, aby do domu nevpúšťali cudzie osoby, ale zabudnú dať na dvere zámok a objaví sa dosť strašidelný tulák, ktorý sa pustí dnu. The three children in this story are left at home alone one evening when their parents have to attend a funeral. They are warned to not let any strangers into the house but they forget to put the latch on the door and a rather scary vagabond turn up and lets himself in. There is an authentic air of menace about this tramp, which initially frightens the three children in the story and children in the audience find exciting, although in the end he turns out to be merely eccentric in a way that all children find irresistible.
