So I wasnt expecting much from this. Thought it was just going to be another cheap horror film with no soul. But I was very surprised. I thought the story was very original. The lead girls did a fantastic job. Very believable performances from all of them. Must have been hell screaming so much. No stupid CGI blood, real looking practical effects and prosthetics. I just wish they went darker. Its like they were there and just needed a little push over that edge. The stunts were very well done. The cinematography was ok, not amazing but not bad. Lighting could have used a little work, dark isnt always the best route to go even in horror. Location was pretty cool. You could tell they didnt have to much money since most of the film takes place in one house. Pacing was almost perfect in my opinion. Some twists and turns here and there but if you are a fan of the genre you should be able to tell almost right away whats going on. If you are looking for something new to watch I suggest you give it a try, you wont be disappointed. A solid 7/10.

Also a side note. Taylor Hickson ,the blonde sister got pretty messed up on the last day of shooting. She was facially disfigured while shooting a scene for the film. She was rushed to the hospital and received 70 stitches but was permanently scarred. In March 2018, Hickson sued the film’s production company, Incident Productions, over lost work as a result of the incident. Hickson claimed in the lawsuit that, “in the course of shooting the scene, the director Pascal Laugier, consistently told Hickson to pound harder on the glass with her fists”.
Apparently they didnt use break away glass, which almost every production uses to keep actors and stunt people safe. And they didnt have a medic on set that day either. If you goolge it the pics of her gash are pretty bad. Graphic stuff. If you go to her Instagram you can tell by the fact that she constantly hides her chin/side of her face with her hair or hand. Really sad stuff. Not to mention the poster for the film shows a girl with a cracked face! Ouch.

This is one of the best horror movies in 2018 so far...I mean that's my opinion on Ghostland. I just didn't like that there is no backstory on the two psychos, or anything that would provide us the motive...why the dolls and that truck?? I won't go to details, but scary and very good horror movie...maybe a prequel would be a good idea to give us some answers :)

this is exactly what i wanted to say. a prequel on the two psychos. btw i think they are brothers and possible inbreds. but yea movie was great. remember that scene when the girl is being dragged and one of the villains flicks her off as a payback? that scene creeped me out. also the scene when they are inside the candy truck was masterfully done eerie.

Well if director is reading this, there are some good ideas from you...and maybe they were molested in some toy/doll factory or something... Yes, there were some very scary parts in the movie, and that's not something that we often see these days in horror movies. Most of movies in the genre are just not scary...they just throw at you a ton of jumpscares, and that is that! Ghostland had a scary story and enough gore...but if we know that this director made a mestrpiece - Martyrs, than it shouldn't be suprise.

Loved this movie! I cannot believe its rated so badly on rotten tomatoes. My heart was pounding through my chest throughout the movie. It was very different from other horror movies i loved that you thought it was going one direction then totally flip to another!!

I don't really like those non reality/dream sequences in movies, when you don't know what is real and what is not, but here they are nicely done and play a major role in the story. So, they are needed, just like in some other movies like Aliens or Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind... And about ratings on RT, well rating system is always purely subjective thing and it should not change our own opinion about the film. I think it is great, but non of my friends really thinks that way :D
