I picked this up off a recommendation and early on I was really struggling to track with the style and vision. Then about 1/3 of the way through the viewing experience settled into a realization of being the observer. After that, and especially toward the end, I couldn't believe the artistry and vision the film maker had. Actually, in thinking about it, the realization came for me when the fourth wall was clearly broken about the tire smoke and sun daggering through. The beauty and complexity, the power and pain, the fear and hope. It has been a long, long time since I've been so impressed and effected by a documentary or indeed any film at all!
Based on the current ratings (62% as I am writing this), others do not agree. What was lacking? What was needed? I can't remember such a complete and consistent vision in a long time.
