Η ιστορία της Funko ξεκινάει το 1998 από μια μικρή εταιρεία που ίδρυσε ο Mike Becker και κυκλοφόρησε μια σειρά φιγούρες με θέμα την νοσταλγία και τις ονόμασε “Wacky Wobblers” . Αυτές οι φιγούρες είχαν την ιδιαιτερότητα να έχουν κουνιστό κεφάλι “Bobblehead” όπως τις λέμε εμείς. Η πρώτη φιγούρα που σχεδίασε η εταιρία ήταν ο “Big Boy bobblehead” ο οποίος ήταν μασκότ μιας αλυσίδας εστιατορίων της Αμερικής.
