Ettore has spent the last five years in jail for a robbery. Once out of prison, he has nowhere to go, his wife broke up with him and doesn’t want him to meet their little daughter who was born right before he was arrested. Alone and desperate, Ettore roams the streets of Rome and meets a strange old man, Nicola. He decides to take advantage of him and rob him. But after breaking into his house, Ettore realizes Nicola doesn’t have anything worth stealing and furthermore, the old man tells him a rather stranger thing: he affirms to be Santa Claus…

Ettore hat die letzten fünf Jahre wegen eines Raubüberfalls im Gefängnis verbracht. Sobald er aus dem Gefängnis entlassen wurde, kann er nirgendwo hin, seine Frau hat mit ihm Schluss gemacht und möchte nicht, dass er ihre kleine Tochter kennenlernt, die kurz vor seiner Verhaftung geboren wurde. Allein und verzweifelt streift Ettore durch die Straßen Roms und trifft auf einen seltsamen alten Mann, Nicola. Er beschließt, ihn auszunutzen und auszurauben. Aber nachdem er in sein Haus eingebrochen ist, stellt Ettore fest, dass Nicola nichts zu stehlen hat, und außerdem sagt ihm der alte Mann etwas ziemlich Seltsames: Er behauptet, der Weihnachtsmann zu sein.

Ettore (Marco Giallini) è un ex galeotto dalla vita turbolenta e sgangherata. Ha scontato 5 anni di carcere per una rapina commessa con dei complici di cui non ha mai rivelato i nomi. Alle spalle ha una relazione finita male con Laura, da cui ha avuto una figlia che non ha mai potuto conoscere. Non ha grandi alternative se non quella di continuare a fare il rapinatore. È così che si ritrova a casa di Nicola (Gigi Proietti), un amabile signore che non ha niente di valore che si possa rubare. In compenso ha una bizzarra rivelazione da fare ad Ettore: dichiara infatti di essere Babbo Natale. Ettore è decisamente scettico: Nicola sarà davvero chi dice di essere?
